Comprised of 13 professional dancers from across the United States, Dance Kaleidoscope performs 4 mainstage performances each season along with multiple performances and engagements throughout the city in collaboration with other organizations such as the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
This historic year will be a time to reflect on a golden legacy of achievement, the tremendous growth the organization has achieved and to celebrate all those who helped to facilitate it. Over its 50-year history, Dance Kaleidoscope has been recognized for exceptional contemporary dance, arts education, and for its outstanding contributions to Indiana’s arts and cultural communities. The 2022-23 Season is a momentous occasion for Dance Kaleidoscope with the celebration of the 50th Anniversary. David spent two years as a full-time faculty member at Texas Christian University and was Artistic Director of The Green Shows at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for ten seasons. He has taught at the American Dance Festival and has given workshops in Quebec City, Tokyo, Vienna, Oslo, Dublin and Rio de Janeiro. He has given master classes in Graham technique throughout the U.S., Europe, and China. During that time, he was a soloist and rehearsal director and has been on the faculty of the Martha Graham School since 1982. Born in Trinidad, West Indies, David joined the Martha Graham Dance Company in 1980 and toured the world until 1989. Now celebrating his 32nd season with Dance Kaleidoscope, Artistic Director David Hochoy is a legendary ambassador for contemporary dance.
